Turks & Caicos trip

Our Turks & Caicos Getaway – No Kids, Just Us!

Thanks for following along on our trip! We travel often and I’m always looking for unique stays and unforgettable destinations—so I wanted to share our Turks & Caicos experience in case you’re planning your own.

Just a quick note: This post isn’t sponsored—we paid for everything ourselves. I’m simply sharing what we loved (and what we’d skip) so you can have an amazing trip too!

Why Turks?

This was a couples-only getaway, just my husband and me. Normally, we do all-inclusive resorts with our kids, but this time we wanted something a little more elevated and relaxed. Turks has limited all-inclusive options, and after a trusted friend had a disappointing experience at one, we decided to skip it. The island is all about that crystal-clear water and white sand—so we prioritized the beach over swim-up bars.

Where We Stayed

We booked Oasis at Grace Bay, a boutique hotel just a short shuttle ride from the beach (about 2 blocks). It felt like a hidden European gem—cozy, stylish, and full of thoughtful touches: high-end toiletries, robes and slippers, espresso machine, full kitchen, washer/dryer, and a quaint little restaurant where we enjoyed breakfast daily.

Though not beachfront, the hotel runs a constant beach shuttle (7 a.m.–7 p.m.), and has a private beach setup with loungers, umbrellas, towel service (they smelled amazing!), cold water, and beachside food + drink delivery. They’ll also shuttle you to nearby restaurants or call a cab if you’re heading farther out.

Other hotel options I looked at and most likely will book another time when we go back after seeing their location: Grace Bay Club, The Shore Club, Point Grace.

Dining Out

I’m a foodie, so meals matter—and they were delicious, but pricey. On average, dinner for two with a shared appetizer, two entrees, dessert, and drinks ran us about $250. That said, each meal felt like a treat:

Coco Bistro: Gorgeous outdoor setting! We had conch chowder, blackened mahi, tuna, and cocktails. The rain rushed us out, but we loved it.

The Farm (at Seven Stars): Farm-to-table with Asian flavors. I had shrimp stir-fry, my husband had short rib—both great.

Marine Room: Amazing crudo, scenic views. I loved the branzino; my husband gave his pork chop a 7/10.

Vita at Rock House: Our favorite! Breathtaking views and incredible food. We had linguini with clams, lemon pasta with grilled prawns, tuna tartare, sorbet, wine, and cocktails. Just perfect.

    • Grace’s Cottage: great ambiance, food and friendly staff
    • Embers: we didn’t try this because we run out of nights but we heard it’s great. The only thing why we didn’t make it a priority is because it’s in a strip mall rather than having an amazing view
    • Turks Kabob and Da Conch Shack are great lunch spots.

Excursions We Loved

Caicos Island Charters (Snorkeling): Out of all the morning snorkeling options, this was by far the best. Spacious boat (others tend to feel overcrowded), friendly crew, and great snorkeling gear. We stopped at Iguana Island, where you cross from the Atlantic to the Caribbean in just a 3-minute walk—so cool! There’s even a fun slide off the boat at the end. They serve pastries, fresh fruit, a light lunch, local beer, and rum punch. It cost us $140 per person

Sunset Cruise: A relaxing afternoon boat ride with a bit of snorkeling and lots of beautiful views. Great vibe! $125 per person

Shipwreck & Noah’s Ark Floating Bar: A lively, adults-only floating bar experience. It’s a bit of a rough ride to get there, but once you arrive, it’s fun and has a true party atmosphere. Not family-friendly, but worth checking out if you’re kid-free. $140 per person

Extras & Tips

Outside the hotel strip, check out:

Sandbox (frosé + frozen lemonade as well as gelato)

Lemon 2 Go Coffee

Beans & Leaves

Flowers by EA

Souvenir Tip: Sweatshirts at gift shops run $95+ and aren’t always the best quality. Save that money for an excursion—you’ll remember it far more than a hoodie!

Airport Transfer Tip: the majority is hotels are within 15 minutes distance from the airport. If you take a taxi cab it will cost you about $12 per person for a share transfer rather than $125 for a private transfer in an SUV. They are safe and always available.

Hope this helps! Have fun and safe travels :)
