Austin Trip in 48 hours
48 Hours in Austin đŽđ¸âď¸
Quick recap of our weekend in ATXâbookmark this for your next trip!
We stayed at The LINE Hotelâa boutique hotel right on Lady Bird Lake with amazing views and one of the best locations in downtown. The pool had such a fun vibe, and we loved how everything we needed was either onsite or a quick walk away.
On the property:
â Veracruz Tacos (restaurant + taco truck)âso good, with veg options too
â P6 Rooftop Barâgreat views, cocktails + tapas = yes please
â Alfred Coffee in the lobby for a quick caffeine fix
⨠But one block away is Desnudo Coffee Truck, and itâs totally worth the wait!
We booked a boozy pedal tour with Austin Pedal Pubâhighly recommend! You bring your own drinks (just no glass), and they provide the cooler, ice, and good vibes. You cruise around downtown, stop for pics and hit a couple of bars. So fun!
Live music spots if youâre up for saloon style energy:
đľ White Horse, The Continental Club, and Broken Spoke (yes, you can line dance!). Best after 7-8pm and all just a short Uber ride away.
Taco run musts:
đŽ Taco WĂŤy
đŽ Gueros
đŽ Las Trancas
đŽ Taqueria De Diez
đŽ And of course, Veracruz right at the hotel
We spent time exploring SoCo (South Congress) tooâthink cute brunch spots, boutiques, and local vendors selling handmade leather goods, jewelry, and gifts. Donât miss the iconic murals:
đ¸ Love from Austin
đ¸ Yeehaw
đ¸ Tequila Made Me Do It
đ¸ I Love You So Much
We brunched at Two Hands, but Magnolia Cafe, Juneâs, and Cafe No SĂŠ are on our list for next time!
6th Street Tips:
⨠Upstairs at Carolineâs (awesome cocktails and tacosâget the brisket + grilled shrimp and guava margarita!) is right on Congress & 6th.
⨠West 6th has a more of bar/club vibeâcheck out Green Light Social, The Rustic Tap, Star Bar, or Little Woodrowâs
⨠âDirty 6thâ is more of the late-night/live music crowdâtry The Dead Rabbit, Friends Bar, Maggie Maeâs, and San Jac Saloon
We wrapped up our trip with sunset drinks at Edge Rooftop Bar at the JW Marriott. Great view and you can even get a pool day pass if youâre not staying there.
