Chocolate Chip Cookie - Mix in a Jar

It's the season to give but you don't have to break the bank. Sometimes the best gifts are the thoughtful ones...do you agree?

I really think your friends and family will appreciate these kind of presents much more than any store bought. The time and only little work put into them will make them extra special for the ones receiving them.

Now, when we talk about cookies probably chocolate chip comes first to our minds, right? I mean...there is something so special about a good chocolate chip cookie and this mix make it almost ready to go! If you want to get the kiddos involved in the gifting process this is also a great way to do so. This can be great for teachers, bus drivers, neighbors, co-workers and anyone really.

You can add pretty bows and fancy tags or just keep it simple as I did. Here is what you need,

Ingredients: (yields about 2 dozen cookies)

1 3/4 cups of all purpose flour

3/4 tsp of baking soda

3/4 tsp of salt

1 1/2 cup (9oz) of semi sweet chocolate chips

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1- 32oz mason jar container

tags and ribbon

Intructions:

Combine the flour , baking soda and table salt in a medium bowl. Place this mixture in the mason jar container. Layer the rest of the ingredients packing them down after each layer. Seal the lid and decorate with ribbon and a gift tag with the instructions.

Here is the recipe to attach in the tags (you can write it down as I did or print labels to stick to the tags):

Preheat oven at 375 F. Beat 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) of softened butter, 1 large egg and 3/4 tsp of vanilla extract in the mixer until smooth. Add cookie mix and continue to mix breaking any clumps. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheet for 2 minutes, remove and cool completely. Enjoy!

This recipe takes 10 minutes to make and you can make multiple batches at once. I hope you enjoy the recipe and the homemade idea. For more ideas and home decor inspiration make sure to follow me on Instagram.
